Cala Figuera is a seaside village in the South of the Spanish island Mallorca and belongs to the municipality Santanyí Wikipedia. Cala Figuera is a picturesque and quiet holiday resort at about 5 kilometres distance from Santanyí. The village is set on top of a cliff and along a beautiful double bay with crystal clear waters. The stunning natural harbour is framed by cosy fishermen's houses and boat garages and is a popular motive for a photo shoot. It's still an active harbour and every afternoon the fishermen return with their daily catch, which is a spectacle well worthwhile witnessing. Also alongside the cliff, there is a seaside promenade with small cafés and restaurants and a popular walk with visitors. Steep steps are leading up to the real centre of the small village, where you will find shops, supermarkets, restaurants, bars, banks a pharmacy and a few smaller hotels. Along the harbour you can walk from one bay to the other, the sea always in sight, and with the best views of the traditional Mallorcan fishing boats called "Llaut". The closest beaches can be found in the beautiful Cala Santanyí and in the nature reserve Cala Mondragó.
The property market in Cala Figuera consists mainly of used or second hand property and a mixture of holiday apartments, small detached houses and chalets but also luxury villas on the seafront with dramatic views of the sea or romantic views of the harbour. New developments and modern residential complexes are not so frequent within the village. In the centre you will mainly find holiday apartments, towards the borders are some very nice residential areas with charming houses and chalets, mostly with garden and pool. In the surroundings there are also larger properties for sale, like traditional farm houses or recently built villas with considerable amounts of land, gardens and private pools. Those properties are very much sought after, due to the good infrastructure, easy access to the surrounding villages and the fine sandy beaches of this area. Buyers of property in or near Cala Figuera will appreciate the typical character of the village, which stays rather quiet even in high season, and is well connected at the same time. The property offer includes anything form favourably priced holiday apartments up to luxury country home - and much in between.
Banks, pharmacy, and supermarkets can be found along the main street and in the smaller side streets of the village. Along the seaside promenade there are some popular Italian pizza places and Mallorcan restaurants, serving anything from delicious tapas to the traditional paella. Brand new and directly overlooking the port is the restaurant Bonbar with a beautiful terrace and fish and seafood directly from the boats. Not towards the port but enthroned on the steep cliffs at the other end of the village is the Pura Vida Restaurant with breathtaking sea views. The cuisine here is featuring the best from the Mediterranean and is catering for the sophisticated traveller.
Towards the East there are the fine sandy beaches of S'Amarador and Cala Mondragó, which are part of the nature reserve Parc Natural de Mondragó. The Cala Mondragó bay offers sunbeds and a small beach bar. Further to the South is Cala Santanyí, also with sun beds, the excellent s'Ona Beach bar, suba diving school and surf board hire. Along the bay are some cool bars and restaurants. Well hidden and best found by boat are some smaller mostly rocky beaches.
Property listings include mostly apartments and chalets in Cala Figuera and farmhouses and country homes in the surroundings. Prices for apartments are starting at about 140.000 €, for a two bedroom flat, chalets close to the harbour will be valued at 300.000 to 400.000 €, while prices for a country home with pool will start at around 800.000 €
