Cala Ratjada is a small holiday resort, which has experienced a nice development over the last years. Live is thriving around its emblematic harbour, which is framed by restaurants, boutiques and cafés. The port is also the starting point for the seaside promenade, which is connecting the harbour with the Cala Moll beach. What used to be fishermen's houses and traditional holiday homes, has been changed into restaurants and cafés, each with its individual flair and marvellous sea views from the terraces. The promenade is the ideal spot for a sunny walk along the sea, to enjoy a cup of tea in the shade or for a romantic dinner at night. Cala Ratjada offers a number of beaches, the Cala Moll, the small Cala Gat beach on the village borders, the beautiful Cala Angulla, which is framed by pine woods and the Cala Mesquida in the holiday resort by the same name. Along the coast there are smaller coves, with crystal clear waters and the very best conditions for scuba diving. Those well hidden treasures are best to be discovered on a day out by boat, boat hire being available in the port. Regarding tourism, Cala Ratjada is well developed, without being overcrowded. There are a few hotels, nice apartment complexes with community pools and gardens and leisure activities for any taste and budget. Shops, restaurants, the port and the seaside promenade are in an easy walking distance from almost all areas within the village borders or can be easily reached by bike. Sports activities in the Cala Ratjada area include hiking trails, cycling routes, tennis courts, 5 golf courses and naturally a wide range of water sports activities.
The property market Cala Ratjada is focussing mainly on holiday apartments. Most sought after are houses and chalets on the borders and the apartments in one of the quiet and beautiful residential complexes with large gardens and community pools. Prices are considerably normal and there is still a good potential for an increase in value. Cala Ratjada is a good choice for buyers looking for a property in a place with very good infra structure and who appreciate the closeness of the sea!
Within the area of the port and the seaside promenade there are full shopping facilities, such as smaller supermarkets, bakeries, boutiques, souvenir shops, restaurants for any taste and budget, but also rustic beer gardens and nightlife spots. Along the promenade you are really spoilt for choice: starting with simple tapas, fresh fish and seafood from the local fishing grounds, Mediterranean cuisine or Italian specialities up to delicious burger joints and roasted sausages. A bit outside the village there are some larger supermarkets and pharmacy stores to do the weekly shopping.
